Will's first stitches!

Last night we had some friends come up from Tuscaloosa. They came through to go to the Fayette County Fair. After having a great time they came back to the house for just a few minutes. They have a 2 1/2 year old son named Mack. He and Will played good together.

Well, when they left it was past Will's bedtime. He was a little wired. In the process of playing while picking up toys he fell in the kitchen. You may have guessed it by now. He cut his chin.

Off to the ER here in Fayette we went for medical attention. 10:15p and we are going to the hospital.

Will did so good. They had to use 3 stitches to close the cut. Not too bad, but have you ever had a neddle stuck into a cut in your chin? Well, I can tell you that it didn't look too fun.

I'm telling you that Will is tough as nails. He screamed and cried with the needle, but didn't move. The doctor had told him not to move, so he didn't.

After the shot it was all down hill. Scarring will be minimal and it is up under the chin. 1 week and we can take the stitches out.

If you know Will you will know that he asked about 1,000,000 questions during the process.

He slept good and went to school today. I figure we may visit the ER again someday.

You know, sometimes we would be tempted to ask God why did it have to cut the chin? Why couldn't they use the glue to close the cut instead of stitches? Why Will?

Well folks, it could of been his eye. It could have been his mouth. The bottom of his chin is not so bad. God was watching over Will throughout the whole ordeal.

As for the stitches and why will? Well, if it had of been the easy way out then the doctors and nurses wouldn't seen what a big boy he was. They wouldn't have seen a family calling on our Lord to remove the pain during the worst moments and how soothed a little 4 1/2 year old would become.

You know, every moment can be used. Maybe someone in that ER needed Will to come in last night.
