Coach Pitch Baseball

Ok, Monday is draft day. That's right, draft day. I am coaching Will's baseball team and we draft players on Monday. 5 and 6 year old coach pitch. 5 is too young!

I have the list of players. I have had a couple of buddies review the list and give me the players to pick and DONT pick. Man, I am going to get drilled. There are a couple of good teams, or they have a good start with the coaches kids.

We will be young. I am playing for next year. I figure that we take it on the chin this year, but I keep my coaches together and we hammer everyone next year. Am I taking this too serious already?

Hey, we are just going to have fun. We will teach kids the fundamentals of baseball and good sportsmanship...................ok, not believable. We will try to win. I don't like to lose. Can you bunt in coach pitch?

Stay tuned and I will give you pics and updates on the Indians. Oh, Will has already told Donna and I that he either wants to play catcher or.............be the announcer. That's right, he wants to announce everyones name as they come to bat. I hope my kids smart. Doesn't look like we are headed for an athletic scholarship at this point.

When will summer be here?

Are you a cold weather fan? Not me! I can't stand the cold. It seems like it gets to my bones and I just can't get warm.

Ok, I thought about this a little and came up with a list of things I don't and do like about winter. My list follows:

LIKE:

1. Christmas - in my opinion once Christmas is over the weather can warm back up. However, I do like cooler weather at Christmas.

2. No cutting grass. I love the look of a green yard, but not having to cut makes this brown yard look beautiful.

3. Wear sweaters - I do like the fact that I can weather sweaters. Easy to get dressed in the morning and it covers the winter lbs you gain.

4. Snow - Oh yeah, it hasn't snowed here in years James Spain. Anyone need any bread and milk.

5. Hunting season - I managed to go 3 times. One of the three it was too cold. I thought about starting a fire.

6. Football season - Roll Tide Roll!


DONT LIKE:

1. Cold.

2. Dry skin - cold weather makes my skin itch.

3. Rainy

4. Gray skies

5. The credit card bill from Christmas presents.

6. My power bill from the heat running all day.

7. My truck is cold in the morning when I leave for work.

8. Did I mention it is COLD!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, there are a few things about this time of year I enjoy, but I am a summer guy. I am ready for 100 July days. Come on Summer!
