The Brown's headed to Gulf Shores, Al., for a long weekend. We had a great time! We were so worried about the weather. Rain was predicted for the entire weekend. We even tried to change our reservations, but couldn't and aren't we glad. The weekend was great and the weather was fine.

We left town on Thursday night after our last ballgame of the year. Arriving in Gulf Shores around 1 a.m. Friday morning you would think that we crashed right into bed. Nope! Will had slept on the way down, so he and I hit the sack around 3ish Friday morning.

Friday morning was windy and misty. After getting my run in we set out for putt-putt and then the track. The afternoon was great. Weather cleared (water was really rough. double red flag) and we met up with the Deal's. I think we managed to get in around 11p after being on the go all day.

Saturday morning we got up and went to spend time with Donna's aunt/uncle (Russell/JoAnn). We had a great lunch and most of all enjoyed seeing them.

Sunday morning we went to church at Romar Beach Church. After church we headed to Waterville (Forrest Deal went with us). Those boys ran me to death. We did water slides, wave pool, etc.. It was great. Tiring, but great. Will and Forrest had a blast (Donna and I did too). Donna and the boys also did the Wave Jammer ride. Don't ask Donna about almost losing her suit.
Monday was relaxation day. Beach time. Just fun in the sun.
What a weekend. Alot of fun for the Brown's. It was nice spending time with Donna, Will (Paw Paw came down for a few days as well). Good food. Time with family and friends. Isn't it great that we live in a country where men/women have given us a chance at this freedom by fighting in all corners of this world.
May God continue to bless America!

Will Brown - Pre-school grad

Well, Will finishes up pre-school this week. Wow! My baby boy goes to kindergarten come August. He took his pre-admissions test last week and scored really well. He has really learned alot and I have to give Donna credit. She has worked so hard to make sure that Will was prepared for K. He is looking forward to it and seeing all his friends.

Tomorrow we have his end of school program. They will sing some songs and do a couple of skits. It should be funny. There has always been a few surprises in the past years with the other classes.

I look forward to Will going to the elementary school. I know that there are many fun days and exciting times ahead for him. Part of me also wants to keep him small. This way we can protect him from all the bad that is out there waiting. Hey, I guess you just give him to the Lord and ask Him to watch over and protect the steps that Will takes in the future.

I'm a proud dad. All dads should be proud of their families as they are a gift from God.

Well, keep us (especially Donna) in your prayers this Summer. Donna is going to need it as her baby starts school soon. She will do fine. Oh, I'm not worried about Will. He is fine. His mom, well that may be another story.

Friday night Donna, Will, Tom (Will's buddy) and I headed out to Hubbertville to watch the races at Thunder Valley. They had the normal races along with the visiting monster trucks. Yes, Will still loves monster trucks. He talked about Friday night all week and reminded me everyday that Friday night was Monster Truck Night at Thunder Valley.
To answer a few questions:
1. Yes, a few folks were surprised to see us there. Although, Will, Donna and I have been there on multiple occasions.
2. Yes, it was fun. Maybe not for everyone, but my little boy loves it. Fast cars that wreck and big trucks. It is a little boys dream.
3. No, Donna did not have on a rebel flag tube top. I asked, but she said no. I think she is becoming a race fan.
We saw alot of folks we knew and the boys had fun with buddies they bumped into while there. We arrived around 7ish and left after 10p. Late night for the Brown's at the dirt track.
If you are looking for something different to do on a Friday or Saturday night, I suggest you head to the track. It was a great family outing.
